NCLEX Quick Results: 10 Things You Should Know
Once you’ve taken the NCLEX, you’re eager to know your results as soon as possible.
Did all that preparation pay off with a passing score?
When will you finally be able to start applying for nursing jobs? That’s where NCLEX Quick Results come in.
Quick Results Must Know
1. What are NCLEX Quick Results?
NCLEX Quick Results allow you to view an unofficial pass/fail result from your NCLEX exam two business days after you take the test.
This is available directly from the test administrator Pearson VUE.
The catch is that these quick results do not mean a license to practice nursing.
You still have to wait for your official results to be posted by your state’s board of nursing before you can begin applying for nursing jobs.
2. Are NCLEX Quick Results Accurate?
The good news is that NCLEX Quick Results should be accurate since they are coming from Pearson Vue. I haven’t heard of a situation where they weren’t.
3. When Do You Get NCLEX Quick Results?
If your state board of nursing participates in the NCLEX Quick Result program, you’ll be able to access your quick results within two business days of taking the exam.
That means if you test on a Wednesday, you’ll generally be able to view the quick results by Friday morning.
Keep in mind these are only available on business days, not weekends or holidays.
4. How Do NCLEX Quick Results Work?
Pearson VUE, the company that administers the NCLEX exams, offers test-takers the option to purchase their quick unofficial results before the full official results are available.
This allows nursing graduates to get a valuable early look at a pass/fail outcome. However, these quick results cannot confer a nursing license.
Your state board of nursing still needs to officially verify, process and post the full exam results.
This more detailed process takes longer, but it’s what grants you an actual license.
5. Do You Have To Pay for NCLEX Quick Results?
Yes, the NCLEX quick results come with a small fee paid to the exam administrator Pearson VUE.
As of 2023, the fee to access your NCLEX quick results is $7.95.
This option becomes available in your Pearson VUE account once the 48-hour processing period has passed after your exam date.
For most nursing students, this is a nominal and worthwhile fee to get results quickly and reduce anxiety.
6. Do You Get an Email When Your NCLEX Quick Results are Ready?
Unfortunately, Pearson VUE does not send any kind of email notification when your NCLEX quick results become available.
You simply have to log into your Pearson account regularly and manually check for them once 48 business hours have passed since your exam.
7. Why Might Your NCLEX Quick Results Not Be Available?
If you’ve passed the 48-hour mark but don’t see the option to view your quick results, there are a few possible reasons:
- Your state may not participate in the quick result program. Check with your nursing board.
- It hasn’t yet been two full business days since your exam. Be patient and keep checking.
- You’re looking in the wrong section of your Pearson VUE account. Double-check where to view results.
8. Should You Buy NCLEX Quick Results?
Given the low cost and potential stress reduction benefits, going ahead and buying the NCLEX quick results when available is worth it for the majority of test takers.
Getting your outcome even a bit faster can help process emotions and plan next steps.
9. What Do NCLEX Quick Results Look Like?
The NCLEX Quick Results page is very basic and plain in appearance. You’ll see your name, the exam you took (RN or PN), and the date you tested.
Next to those details will simply be a “Pass” or “Fail” result.
Underneath the pass/fail indicator is a short history of any other NCLEX exams you’ve previously taken.
10. Are Quick Results Available on the Weekends (Saturday or Sunday)?
The NCLEX quick results are officially only available during weekdays, not on weekends.
Some students have reported seeing the option appear over a weekend. You can try checking over the weekend just in case.
But expect that most likely the quick results will not be accessible until the next weekday, in line with the timeline of two business days after your exam.
